Application runtime issues
Can't invoke ApplicationApi.NET.dll appearing when launching application
- You do not have ApplicationAPI.dll or ApplicationAPI.NET.dll or sdkdriver.dll present in the same directory as your application executable is.
Copy the dll files to the same directory like your application executable is, or alternatively to C:Windows or the root folder of your device. - You do not have the latest or the proper version of ApplicationAPI.dll or ApplicationAPI.NET.dll downloaded.
Ask for the latest version from Sygic. - You are initiating the Drive application or calling InitApi function for second times in a row without a delay
Problem of opening GPS with Windows CE devices
The connection to GPS is defined through the application settings (settings.ini) through the com= parameter assignment.
By default we set it to autodetect mode (Sygic 2D: com=autodetect or Sygic 3D: m_strDefCom=autodetect ).
However, the auto detection might fail on some devices.
If you know exactly, to which port GPS connects, it is best if the setting is overwritten with fixed values.
Examples:

If you don't know it, you should find the values in your device's specification, or you should contact the device manufacturer.
Problem of opening GPS with Android and Windows 8 devices

Error-5 appearing when launching navigation or after route computing
The error nr. 5 occurs in one of the following cases:
- 1. when start or destination point of route is out of coverage of loaded maps
- 2. when start or destination point of route is prohibited for trucks (or also for the other vehicles)
- 3. when you have selected the wrong 'planning preferences' like bicycle or pedestrian option when you are driving a car
You can check it very easily:
- 1st and 2nd case:
You can find the exact position where you would like to be navigated via:
Main menu> Map> Find the piece of road on the map or find it via left 'Options' button>
If this piece of road is gray then it is prohibited for the trucks or cars. - 3rd case:
You can go to the 'planning preferences' via:
Main menu> Settings> Planning preferences>
Illegal Operation appearing after software update
This issue is caused by the temporary files (.q and .dat).
In order to update the Fleet navigation we recommend:
In order to update the Fleet navigation we recommend:
- Download and unzip our latest version of the navigation
- Remove the /Drive and /Res folders of the navigation from your device (except 'settings.ini', 'menu.ini', 'KeyMap.ini' and the drivers under ...DriversDefault folder
- Copy the /Drive and /Res folders from the new package
The above steps also remove the temporary files from the previous version.
Black screen appearing after launching navigation
Please make sure that the Res folder of the navigation has been copied successfully. If so, then please also check whether the Res file is referenced in the Settings.ini file correctly (see the ResourcePath parameter).
SDK usage problems
LocationFromAddress API function can't find the address or returns bad location
Use the overladed function with setting FUZZY search to true. Otherwise you have to make sure that you entered address correctly with all diacritical marks and street names with all words in name.
Another issue can be that there are more places for the given address.
It is possible that there are more cities with the same name in one country or more streets with same name in one city. In that case LocationFromAddressEX function should be used. It enables to enter region in country (for cities) and part of city (for streets). In case of more possible results LocationFromAddressEx returns array of results.

StartNavigation API function does not work
Please make sure that the device is receiving either real GPS data or the navigation is playing GPS log when executing the StartNavigation API function.
Map issues
Error loading map at the application start
The following errors can occur:
- 1. No maps available. Check your memory card
- 2. No map loaded, tap here to access the menu ...
1. No maps available
This means that some of the subfolders or files are not properly placed or missing inside a map folder.
Path to the map folder is defined in settings.ini through the MapPath variable.
It defines the map folder root to be relative to Sygic navigation executable (Drive.exe, SygicTruck.exe, etc).
The example of the map folder location with the setting MapPath=....Maps (default setting) is as follows:

Please make sure:
- there are map country subfolders (e.g. deu) in the Maps folder
- *.mlm or content.info file is present at the same folder
- license.txt or content.lic file is present at the same folder
- license.txt or content.lic must contain your activation code
2. No map loaded
This can be be caused by:
- *.mlm/content.info file is not located properly. Check if it is on the MapPath, and next to the map country subfolders (e.g. deu).
- *. mlm/content.info file was modified or it does not fit to the product you have purchased. Check if the name of the mlm file is the same as the one on your web account.
- activation code is wrong. Check if the activation code matches the one set on the license through your web account.
